When i feel safer that doing it alone,

even though its a thousand miles

if my heart is the closest thing you’d have to home

When your definition of art

is the rhythm of our smiles

and the synchronization of our reggae voices

is your internal ringtone

dont run away.

And even though it feels like theres too much on the line

dont run away.

And when you realize

you treat me like a vintner to his wine

slowly, carefully, truly investing his time

guaranteeing his product is labeled “fine”

dont sell me away.

take a sip.

rest in this commitment

this investment of time.

choose to stay.

when our eyes meet

tell me the story of your protection

rather than withdrawing to it.

run my way.

when you stretch out your arms

open them wide enough for my heart.

you’ll be surprised to find

together we might just

run away.
